Be Mine: Valentine’s Day Gifts for Girls and Guys
By PJ • January 30th, 2008Valentine’s Day is undoubtedly one of the most romantic days of the year, and while it’s fun to buy gifts for your Valentine, it is only fair that you get something nice and pretty for yourself, too.

I think a good gift idea for Valentine’s Day would be a seasonal, limited-edition item to mark the occasion. With most Spring 2008 makeup collections out now, there is a lot to choose from. For something feminine and girlie, Paul & Joe’s Spring 2008 Collection features wearable shades in ultra-cute packaging (even the name of the collection, Sweetie, goes with the occasion). Very collectible.

If you’d like to have something that actually looks like a present in and of itself, look no further than Kanebo’s recently launched and eagerly anticipated makeup line, Coffret D’Or. Their range of eyeshadow palettes, 3D Lighting Eyes, features three wearable shades and a base/highlighter in two finishes.
The case looks like a present wrapped in delicate pink-jeweled ribbons and is available online at Adam Beauty and Ichibankao.

Calvin Klein Eternity for Men and Bulgari Pour Homme

If you are buying a Valentine’s Day gift for a guy, I think a good choice would be a classic fragrance that has proven to be popular over the years. Calvin Klein’s Eternity for Men, launched in 1989, is fresh, vibrant, and distinctive. This zesty scent is strong enough not to be drawn out in the crowd and would suit a confident guy. Think the gorgeous Patrick Dempsey. The notes of this fragrance feature bergamot, lemon, orange blossom, coriander, and rosewood.
If you want to choose something more understated (think Jude Law and his debonair Britishness), then go for something like Bulgari Pour Homme. Launched in 1995, it is perhaps one of the most elegant men’s fragrances I’ve ever come across. Some of the notes includded in this fragrance are bergamot, lavender, mandarin, cedar, and amber.
But no matter what you are planning to get, I wish you a very happy Valentine’s Day!
