My husband affectionately calls me “
Daneen the Clutter Queen.” So when, a few days ago, I did some early Spring cleaning and voluntarily tossed out entire drawers of beauty products – he acted as though it was a case of the body snatchers.

It absolutely pains me to part with my products; even a lipstick I haven’t used for years and will never wear again. But there comes a time in every beauty addict’s life when every bathroom shelf is stocked, every drawer is overflowing, and there’s no room for the new products that you’ll inevitably buy. That’s when we cosmetics connoisseurs need to get creative.

The following beauty multi-taskers will free up some space, save you time, and get your man off your case.

MAC Fix+ sets makeup and revives your look throughout the day. It’s also perfect for those times when you have to go from day to night, but aren’t able to redo your makeup. Fix+ is wonderful for soothing irritated skin post-waxing treatments! ($15, maccosmetics.com)

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment is a concentrated, versatile rejuvenator that improves the condition of hair without weighing it down. It can be used as a deep conditioning treatment (pre-shampoo), a leave-in conditioner (post-shampoo), and shine enhancer. It has a distinctive scent that you either like or you hate – I happen to love it. Every beauty addict needs to own this product. If you haven’t tried it, you don’t know what you’re missing. ($21-55, sephora.com)

I’m lazy. So when I wash my face at the end of the day, I like to skip steps. Who wants to be bothered with makeup remover that you then have to remove with face wash?
T’Five Moisturizing Facial Cleansing Foam is a rich foam that gently melts away makeup and pollutants, helps maintain normal pH balance, and leaves your skin soft and smooth. I use it twice a day, and my skin loves it as much as I do. ($28, skinstore.com)

Throw out your thermal styling tools. Yeah, you heard me right. Throw them all out because
T3 Bespoke Labs Medium Duality Iron is one of the most versatile flat irons on the market. It can create any hairstyle - from sexy curls and waves to sophisticated straight hair – and heats up instantly, with an adjustable temperature control up to 410 ºF. ($160, sephora.com)

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick is ideal for touch-up conditioning on the face and body. But I use it to moisturize and soothe my dry, chapped lips. Plus, the stick smells just like a frothy black and white milkshake. Bonus! ($3, drugstores)

Three Custom Color Special Effects Palette is for the woman who has an arsenal of ‘wrong’ lipsticks. This palette helps you make custom-blended lipsticks of your very own. It contains White (to lighten), Black (to darken), plus seven other shades and a space for blending. ($45, threecustom.com)

I’m a mess in the morning. I often forget to spritz on perfume before heading out the door. I don’t sweat it, though, because I wear
Secret Scent Expressions Anti-Perspirant. On my forgetful days, people often ask me what fragrance I’m wearing. I’m partial to Vanilla Chai, but the deodorant is also available in Afrikan Violet, Arctic Apple, Asian Pear, Brazilian Cherry, Eastern Lily, English Bloom, French Lavender, Jasmine Orient, KuKu Cocoa Butter, Passion Flower, Southern Peach, Spanish Rose, and Tropical Tango. ($4, drugstores)

Wow. Now that I’ve got all this free space, what’s left to do? Purchase more products, natch. And I’m off…
