Spring your look into Spring!

I know how it is: you look out your window and you see piles of snow and you need to wear layers of clothes just to run to the grocery store. How, with all this, can one even think of Spring makeup or styles?
I’ll tell you how: I am just sick of my winter makeup and need to give myself a makeover! Usually, I recommend that people go to their favourite makeup counter and get themselves a professional one but if you want to skip the pressure to buy then you’ve got to do it yourself.
Fret not! This writer from the Beauty Ideal is going to hold your hand every step of the way. Here are 5 easy ways to bring your look into spring.
Step 1:
Lay ALL your makeup in front of you in one place. This means the makeup you use daily as well as the stuff you’ve put aside for later. This way you can truly choose the best colours for right now. Take your foundation and check to see if you’re still wearing the right colour by dabbing some on your cheek and your forehead. If you can’t see the colour, great! If you can, then it’s time to get a new foundation. Try Trublend Liquid Makeup.

It comes in so many colours and looks natural! Don’t skip this step. The wrong colour foundation is the makeup blunder makeup artists most often see and the only way to avoid it is to check your foundation shade now and then.
Step 2:

Ditch the black eyeliner. I know it’s hard. I know you’ve gotten so used to accentuating your eyes. But it just isn’t “springy” and if you must use eyeliner, try one that’s brown so that it’s not as harsh.
Step 3:

Find a bright neutral. A bright neutral is a colour that’s a shade lighter than the regular neutral you might wear. Instead of going for a taupe or a beige, try a gold! MAC’s Nanogold is an instant hit and it’s a cool gold rather than a warm one. If you haven’t liked golds before, try this one.
Step 4:
Highlight or bronze. Don’t do both because you’re going to overload on the shimmer, but definitely do one of these. You need to brighten your face after a harsh winter, and using a highlighter or a bronzer will do both. I love Nars The Multiple in Copacabana as a highlighter. Use your fingers to dab it on your browbone, the tops of your cheeks, and in your cupid’s bow. I also love Benefit’s Bronzer in Dallas. It’s sheer and not orange.

Step 5:

Replace your mascara! That’s right, toss your old one and invest in a new one you love. Covergirl Volume Exact or Lash Exact are both excellent choices - they don’t smudge or flake and really deliver. Best of all they are so cheap that you can replace them frequently without breaking the bank.
And voila! You’ve given your look a breath of fresh air, and all before the snow’s even melted.
